Follow-up from previous meeting, review of actions and master schedule

Last week's meeting focussed on APARSEN at the forthcoming iPRES conference, and particuarly the panel session. The key question for the panel session is which services are to be presented and by whom. David clarified that audit/certification of repositories is a service that will probably be offered by members of the VCoE rather than the VCoE itself. René proposed that it would be useful ot give an overview of the services emerging from SCIDIP-ES and David agreed. Sharon will cover training.

Management update

Deliverables D36.2 "Exemplar business cases" and D27.1 "Recommendations about scalability" have recently been submitted to the EC and are on the deliverables page on the wiki.

The next deliverable due is D25.2 at the end of September. David volunteered to act as internal reviewer for this.

The second year Form Cs and report have been submitted to the EC, and we are now awaiting any queries.

Report on activities within streams, any issues arising

Stream 1 Integration

Simon reported that the PMB is working with Matthias Hemmje as Stream 1 leader on concrete planning for the common vision and VCoE.

Simon reminded that there are also two ongoing WPs: WP13 Coordination of common standards and WP16 Common tools, software repository and market place.

Stream 2 Technical research

No report.

Stream 3 Economic and legal research

Sabine did not have anything new to report.

Stream 4 Spreading excellence

At the ICT event in Vilnius in November APARSEN will be represented at two booths and one meeting room for networking. David has set up a wiki page at Ict2013DetailedInfo. David explained that he had submitted one proposal for a networking session with SCIDIP-ES, another was made by Claudio Prandoni of DCH-RP (cultural heritage), and the third concerns Centres of Competence.

These sessions are all time-limited and it is unclear how they will work in practice. The room session will have 3-4 speakers, with David representing APARSEN and SCIDIP-ES together. The APARSEN/SCIDIP booth is under our control and could focus on the VCoE and its services. We could make the case for the benefits of membership of the VCoE.

René reported that there will be an APARSEN workshop at the UNESCO conf in Marseille in November (, with Ruben Riestra and Susan Reilly involved.

Any other issues

Simon reminded everyone that the next All Hands Meeting will take place in the week of 2-6 December 2013 in Den Haag.
