Management update

A small number of partners still need to respond to the EC's queries on the Year 3 cost claim. Simon is chasing them.

The Project Officer has asked that the contract be amended to formalise the withdrawal of IKI-RAS from the end of the second year. She says that this procedure can be done quickly and will not delay the Year 3 payment too much.

Any issues concerning Streams

Stream 1 Integration (WP11, WP13, WP16)

Holger reported that he has had discussions with Presto4U as both projects are setting up portals. They are exploring what synergies are possible - for example, APARSEN is not focussing on multimedia standards. Presto4U is now deciding whether they will share their data with us.

David reported that a specific plan for development of training modules has been produced. The initial target is the summer school in Vienna in July - this will give a real deadline and allow testing of the training modules. Kirnn has contacted the partners concerned to confirm their participation. There will be advice/support from Kirnn, Sharon and David. It is important that the modules fit together as this is a strength of the VCoE.

Stream 2 Technical research (WP22)

A date for webinar on persistent identifier interoperability has now been confirmed: 25 June.

(Stream 3 Non-technical research - no active WPs)

Stream 4 Spreading excellence (WP4n)

We must resubmit deliverable D43.2 "Launch of digital preservation training portal for VCoE" by 1 June as requested by the PO. Holger reported that Gerald Jäschke is working on the document. Kirnn spoke to Gerald yesterday about methodology of entering content into the online training portal. Sharon said she is also checking the audio content from last year's summer school to see if it is usable.

An outline programme of the summer school in Vienna (five days from 7 July) has been produced - see above report on training modules. Named participants should reply to Kirnn confirming whether they are available to produce the modules and to present them in Vienna.

There will be a face-to-face meeting next Tuesday in London on how to develop the website for the launch of the VCoE.

Deliverable D45.2 "Mapping defragmentation opportunities across key stakeholders outside APARSEN" is now slightly overdue. Eefke Smit has produced a good version, based on the webinars held to date. It will be updated later as the remaining webinars are held. It was agreed that Simon will make final editorial checks and submit the current version to the EC as soon as possible.

Daria is busy promoting upcoming events. David reported that the final set of brochures is being designed.
