Notes on APARSEN MegaMeeting Thursday 11 December 2014

Management update

The EC has released the Year 3 payment to STFC, however the amount is much less than the total claim, presumably because some threshold has been reached in the overall payments. Simon will investigate further and provide an update.

For the final reporting, there are several actions outstanding on all partners, which are now very urgent:

  • ALL PARTNERS: send estimated person-months per Work Package and preferably also total costs for 2014 to Simon (or update the management website if used).
  • LEADERS OF WPs ACTIVE IN YEAR 4: report on progress of your WP in Year 4, using the template at ApanFourthYearReporting, and upload to that page.
  • ALL WP LEADERS, EVEN OF WPs THAT FINISHED SOME TIME AGO: provide a few key points on the main achievements of the WP over the whole life of the project, and particularly how it contributed to defragmentation - use the table on the page above.

Katarina Haage asked about allocating URNs to deliverables, which DNB has done for past deliverables. She needs to know the titles of the deliverables, and can then allocate a URN, which must itself appear in the deliverable document. David will add a column for the URN to the table of deliverables at APANAgendaForNextMeeting, which we are now using to track the final deliverables.

D11.5 Report on a common vision of digital preservation (David Giaretta)

René van Horik volunteered to be internal reviewer.

D11.6 Virtual Centre of Excellence development (David Giaretta, Simon Lambert)

Ruben Riestra will be internal reviewer. David noted that some more detail is needed for D11.5 and D11.6 such as missing links. D11.6 contains a list of capabilities of partners, ans everyone should check for any additions. Section 5 has text on the organisation of the VCoE, to which will be added a contribution from Silvio on the situation in Italy.

D13.3 Report about standardisation activities (Andreas Hundsdörfer)

Diana Pasquariello will be internal reviewer. Holger Brocks reported that work is in progress but he does not know the exact status.

D16.2 Software repository: final (David Giaretta)

No specific internal review is needed as this is an update. David has produced a revision of the previous version. He invited all partners to add any additional pieces of software, though what is really needed is evidence of usefulness. David will continue to maintain the list even after the end of the project.

D22.4 The interoperability framework implementation with added value services (Maurizio Lunghi)

No news

D41.3 Event planning and summary report (Daria Sas, John Lindström)

Daria Sas sent a version with reqeusts for additional input. The reports on individual events are OK. Simon will act as internal reviewer and complete the missing parts. Note that this deliverable does not cover the webinars, only physical events.

D42.2 Report on definition of curricula and course contents, summary of liaison actions and co-operations (Holger Brocks)

A revised version has been produced following internal review.

D44.5 Annual report on communication activities (Ruben Riestra)

Ruben and his team are completing the deliverable, and requesting contributions from all partners to make sure it is up to date and complete. No internal review is needed.

D45.2 Mapping defragmentation opportunities across key stakeholders outside APARSEN (revised version) (Eefke Smit)

This needs completing with outcomes of the last webinars. Eefke will complete it early next week, and Katarina will be internal reviewer.

Any other issues

The very final MegaMeeting will take place next week! There will be a short review of actions and deliverables, and then a general farewell at the end of four years of APARSEN.
