Minutes of Project Management Board meeting, 17th April 2014

Present: Simon Lambert, David Giaretta, Maurizio Lunghi, Sabine Schrimpf.

Completion of document on priorities for Year 4 and budget needs

There was some discussion of the plan for activites in Year 4 circulated by David earlier in the day. David explained the basis in the business plan: this new document addresses the question of how to ensure that the things that we need for the VCoE are in place. Maurizio queried the classification of activities in section 7.2 - this can be discussed in the general forum if there are any doubts.

Maurizio also asked about the annex on training module requirements. David said that the idea was to produce guidance on the contents of the modules, so as to give coherence. This is not the final word and there may be a need to produce some additional modules before the end of the project. Maurizio has been discussing training on persistent identifiers with the University of Macerata, and this would be a good candidate for another module. David stressed however that developing training will not be paid from the project's underspend.

Responding to Manuela Speiser's latest email, including contract amendment

It was agreed that we should put the case to Manuela Speiser that we do not need a further contract amendment. IKI-RAS can continue as a sleeping partner, and there is no need for an amendment to formalise the budget reallocation that is presneted in the Year 4 plan - indeed it might not be possible to set in in stone at that level of detail.

Any other issues

Sabine Schrimpf will step down as Stream 3 lead and leave the project due to maternal leave starting in mid-July 2014. A new DNB main contact for DNB's involvement in APARSEN will be nominated.
