Work Package 22: Monthly Status Report

November 2012

Progress and achievements this month

According to the HLEG inputs the IF was refined and the demonstrator implementation was designed. The basic steps of the early demonstrator consist in: a) engaging a small number of content providers( CERN, DANS, FRD, DNB, and others) that have adopted trust PI like DOI or NBN and collecting metadata of objects and authors from their repositories b) introducing ORCID identifiers for the same authors c)mapping such metadata onto FRBRoo ontologies d) generate new semantic relation among objects and authors data managed by different institutions through D2R tool e)providing some atomic services based on SPARQL according to the DE22.2 in f) implementing a final user interfaces to exploit such services This first release of the demonstrator aims to show the validity of the approach and the potentiality of the relations. The second release will deal with the architecture issues to set up a stable exposition of the metadata though the FRBRoo ontology and services development and testing for user satisfaction. The demonstrator results will be presented at International Workshop Interoperability of Persistent Identifiers Systems - Learning how to bring them together - Florence, 13 December 2012
