Introduction

Summary of the situation and requirements was given by David and Gerald.

Review based on

Issues identified

  • Structure of the site - guiding principle four “main areas”: Community/ Training/ Consultancy/ Knowledge base
    • could use colour coding - different colour for each area
    • home page (i.e. landing page) - could have 4 sections - one for each area
  • The APARSEN topics (Trust, Sustainability etc) could be categories e.g. could be used in filter
    • e.g. pages - constructed by searches on tags
  • Dropdown menus
    • restrict to 2 levels deep
  • APARSEN / APA
    • remove "Welcome to APA" (the "APA and APARSEN" are OK)
    • maybe label/flag each piece of info content like a category; Gerald estimates that building up parallel website page structures for content would consume too much resources by far
  • Visual aspects
    • shrink top banner
    • could change blue theme
    • login area is too large
    • do we need to have a mechanism for creatingAPARSEN needs templates and standard procedures for producing top level image?banner graphics
    • daily news and Calendar - should not be dropdown - must be visible immediately
    • should be able to swap out the rolling logos
    • agreed that we do not need a complete alternative design

Actions

  • Advantec will construct next iteration based on these comments
