David presented his example scenario at CommonVisionScenarios, for "A [novice] repository manager must create a sustainable plan for the preservation of a dataset." The scenario description gives a list of activities and which WPs are involved.

René observed that the scen is based on the repository manager as the central figures, so how many stakeholders do we distinguish? User, policy maker, funder, .... Barbara said that the SHAMAN framework is useful to define stakeholders. With say four stakeholders and three scenarios each we would have 12 scenarios, which sounds about right.

David stressed the importance of integration in scenarios. The scenarios could be expressed in a short form, with more details behind. The aim is consistency, which is the unique feature of APARSEN. The integrating concepts are extracted from the scenarios. David proposed a number of bottom-up scenarios showing how the steps tie in with each other.

Other projects will not use the same terminology, so we will need cross-walks to map to other terminologies.

There was a debate about whether we should include scenarios with aspects that APARSEN does not cover itself, such as appraisal. Maurizio believes that we must cover these areas.

Stephan observed that this sampole scenario is very high-level. We should take a few high-level and then provide concrete examples for different institutes with some more detail. David proposed to aim for a few high-level scenarios and six low-level.

Hildelies suggested that we will need scenarios for librarians and for industrials.

ACTION: KB team to write scenario for libraries by 5th June.

ACTION: Holger, Matthias, Airbus, Tessella to develop scenarios for industrial side.

ACTION: David to expand his scenario to give examples of integrating concepts.

David suggested that the outocme will be a large deliverable for the reviewers, something shorter that people will read (like ODE's reports), plus a leaflet to hand out.

Simon commented that a questionnaire for WP leaders is under development, focussing on integration, and this will be complementary to the scenarios.

It was noted that several WPs have developed their own scenarios.

ACTION: WP leaders extract scenarios from their deliverables.

ACTION: René and Barbara to analyse and merge scenarios from WPs.

René wishes to submit a proposal for a panel session to iPRES. This will be a good opportunity to present a coherent message to the world and get feedback.
