Formal qualifications

Digital Preservation is an emerging field for research and development and needs reflection in education and training. APARSEN as a Network of Excellence will help to train the next generation of digital preservation experts by designing different types of curricula such as programs for continuous professional education and qualification including APARSEN research results. Course material is collected and rearranged according to the needs of different curricula and provided for qualification programs. Apart from developing new courses digital preservation basics could be easily integrated in existing educational programs dealing with data-, information- and knowledge management in order to include digital preservation methodology into the whole data workflow.

APARSEN will contribute to harmonize the inclusion of Digital Preservation theory and practice in relevant higher education curricula and will develop and deliver a portfolio of courses and e-learning material. Involvement and exchange with research institutions will be part of the development process of educational programs and specific models of cooperation will be designed.
